No Zones
Oklahoma Trucking Association provides a large truck with trailer and explain to students the "no zones" of large trucks. The no-zone is the area around trucks where visibility is limited or no visibility.
Unlike cars, trucks and buses have large blind spots directly behind them.
Did you know that nearly 80% of accidents involving Tractor Trailer rigs involve a mistake made by smaller vehicles? Did you know that it takes us nearly two football fields to stop when fully loaded? Requirements to complete the challenge include climbing in/out of the cab and physically seeing blind spots in a truck.
If you school is allowing in-person presentations, you can request a truck visit your school to show students firsthand where the no zones are. This is a great visual for students and gives them firsthand knowledge of how important the no zones really are. Request a truck in person, here.
